The call is routed to the nearest crisis center in the caller’s area, and a trained crisis counselor will provide support, listen to the caller’s concerns, and offer resources and referrals for further help. The Lifeline also offers a chat service on their website, as well as a special phone number (1-888-628-9454) for Spanish-speaking callers.

The Crisis Text Line is a free, 24/7 text message service for people in the United States and Canada who are in crisis and need support. The Crisis Text Line provides access to trained crisis counselors who can offer immediate support and help with issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
